Discover Sicily

Home to Mt. Etna, the largest active volcano in Europe, Sicily is a rugged, Mediterranean island belonging to Italy, yet still remains its individuality in terms of art, architecture and cuisine (Sicily being among one of the great dessert-makers in Italy).

Many different empires have owned this tiny Mediterranean island including the Greek, Roman, Spanish, Norman and even Arabian meaning that the country has an incredibly mixed yet unique culture and individual customs that differs from city to city, village to village, making Sicily a fascinating place to travel to.

Things to See

There are so many things to see and do in Sicily from chartering a yacht to sail in the Mediterranean to lazing around on San Vito lo Capo, one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Maybe you could take a trip to the mesmerising cities of Sicily? Sicily's main beach resort city of Cefalý, the bustling capital Palermo, the Arab-influenced Mazara del Vallo, the party capital Catania or even Marsala, home of the famous Marsala wine.

Wherever you go in Sicily, there is always something new to see...

Of course the star of the show is Mount Etna; the largest active volcano in Europe at 3323m high! Although many would think that being on a volcano on a Mediterranean island would be boiling hot but in fact, it gets very cold up there, especially in the winter where you can even ski down the volcano. Mount Etna itself is a fantastic sight. On the way up to the top, there are small souvenir shops and little restaurants and even artists and singers to entertain you. The solidified rivers of lava are a unique, surreal sight but it's the views overlooking Sicily that makes it really special.
