Ferry Port Overview

Portsmouth - commonly nicknamed `Pompey' - is a city located in the county of Hampshire on the southern coast of England.

The Portsmouth ferry port was a significant naval port for centuries and is home to the world's oldest dry dock still in use as well as many famous ships, like Nelson's flagship HMS Victory, the Mary Rose, HMS Warrior (which was Britain's first iron-clad steamship).

If you catch a ferry from Portsmouth make sure you pay a visit to the Royal Naval Museum, the museum of the history of the Royal Navy. Other tourist attractions include the house of Charles Dickens, the Blue Reef Aquarium and the famous Spinnaker Tower at Gunwharf Quays, a 552 feet-tall tower which features viewing decks at sea level.

Portsmouth Ferry Port is UK's 2nd busiest harbour, offering both passenger & freight services. From Portsmouth Ferry Port you can catch a ferry to Spain, France and the Isle of Wight.
